The Broome is a charming 14-room boutique hotel that's located in the heart of Soho. Despite a laborious overhaul that took seven years, the five-storey building, which used to house artist lofts and is now owned by a quartet of Frenchmen, is still lovingly faithful to its origins. Art pieces from the owners' private collections adorn walls of the lobby, café and meeting room, while a quiet outdoor atrium, surrounded by rooms and terraces up above, offers guests some reprieve and continental flair. The rooms themselves are tastefully furnished by local outfit Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and offer views of Broome Street or the inner courtyard. Each room is equipped with a thoughtful selection of amenities, ranging from Harney & Sons teas and Nunu chocolates in the minibar to a full kit of bathroom essentials, should one have forgotten something. The home-away-from-home feel is perpetuated further in the café, which offers a complimentary selection of Ronnybrook Farm yogurts and pastries from the cherished nearby bakery, Ceci Cela every morning. Our tip: snatch up the two-bedroom penthouse, which comes with a private rooftop terrace, and lounge chairs to boot.
