每个人心中都有记忆，很多人的记忆已经被封存，被遗忘。一旦将那层掩盖记忆的膜击破，内心深处的留存会无止无尽的溢出来。能够留
存的记忆是阅历的精华，是宝藏，更重要的是，那是你人生的美好。
Memories exist in everyone’s heart, though some of them have been sealed up or left behind. Once the cover of memories are torn
apart, what remain in the bottom of heart will overflow. The memories kept are the essence of experiences, treasures, and, particularly,
the best part of your life.

Terrazzo Series
水磨石在我童年记忆里并不是一种建筑材料，而是岁月磨积下来的生活气质。小时候，父亲喜欢玩弄花花草草，经常会在一个有阳光的下午，
和着水泥，拌着沙石倒进用木板钉成的简陋模具，做着他心爱的花钵，有时候我也会参与打磨。在这个记忆里，似乎是一种怀旧的情怀，
实质上是朴实快乐的生活方式。
In my childhood, terrazzo is the temperament of life polished by and accumulated in years, in stead of a construction material. When I
was a child, father was fond of playing with plants. Often in the sunny afternoon, he mixed cement with sand and little stones，and
poured them into a mould crudely made of plank, to form his beloved flowerpots. Sometimes, I helped him burnish. This nostalgic
memory, as a matter of fact, is a yearning for a simple and happy lifestyle.
水磨石在当代中国已经被淘汰。我思考过淘汰的原因，其实，失去的不是水磨石，是当代中国人内心的素养与品味。我们被那些光鲜浮华的
表象所吸引，自己被自己遮挡住了眼睛。水磨石工艺要求已经跟不上因为虚荣而制造的骗局，无人再去需要那种灵性材质的安慰，无人需要
生命深处的记忆。因为一个时代的苍白，水磨石淘汰理所当然，反而在欧洲的城市空间里，水磨石随处可见。
Terrazzo has been outdated in modern China. I have thought about the reasons. In fact, what we lost is not terrazzo, but the humanistic
quality and tastes of modern Chinese people. We are attracted by the dizzying and ostentatious surface, covering their eyes. Terrazzo
technic failed to keep up with the scams made up for the sake of vanity. Few people need the comfort brought about by this spiritualized
material or the memories buried deeply down in the heart. Because of the weak times, inevitably, terrazzo falls into disuse. On the
contrary, in European city space, terrazzo is very common.
水磨石做为一种材料让我有兴趣是我的游历。由于工作的需要，无数次去长春。长春，做为日本侵华战争时期的伪满首都––新京，遗留
下大量公共建筑，满清伪皇宫与八大部门的八大建筑。除了伪皇宫做为旅游参观外，八大部门的建筑做为医院，大学用房或者图书馆至今
还在使用，虽然快有一百多年了，但几乎不需要修缮。每次去长春，我都尽量抽时间在这些建筑空间里流窜，全部的地面，全部的楼梯，
部分的墙面与门套立柱都是水磨石制作，工艺精良的让人叹为观止。尤其是那水磨石渗透出来的光泽全是故事，只要你愿意听，就有声音。
It is my travel that makes terrazzo, a material, interest me. Due to my job, I have been to Changchun plenty of times. Changchun, called
Xinjing as the capital of the Manchukuo during Japanese invasion of China, remained abundant public constructions including the
Manchukuo palace and eight constructions of eight departments. The Manchukuo palace has become a tourist spot. The eight
constructions were turned into a hospital, a university building or a library. Up to now, they have been made use of for more than a
hundred years with seldom renovation. Every time I went to Changchun, I spared time to wander in these constructions, where all the
floor and stairs, some walls, door frames and pillars are made of terrazzo. The technics are breathtakingly exquisite. In particular,
stories are hidden in the gloss of terrazzo. If you listen carefully, voice is there.

利用水磨石设计制造温暖的家居产品，在很多人眼中是种创新，而我却看不到一点创新的影子。如同很多时候设计根本不需要设计一样，
你只需要去击破那层膜，心带情怀的吸纳世界，自由的思考，创新的点永远都在那里等你。
Using terrazzo in designing warm household goods is an innovation for others. But from my point of view, I can’t find a thread of
innovativeness. In many cases, design does not mean to deliberately and painstakingly design. What you need to do is to tear apart the
cover, embrace the world sensitively and meditate freely. The point to ignite innovation is around the corner.
这个点是种责任，人类对自然的消耗无法消退，利用矿山的残余废渣制作产品也并不能起很大作用，对于我来说做出引导与概念已经心满
意足。这个点也是种信任，相信人总会有审美的本心，相信世界总是有轮回的规律。你走的再远，也总要回家。你只有心在跳动，才能证
明你有生命。
This point is responsibility. Human beings cannot reduce the consumption of natural resources. Making use of the wastes of mines may
not attract much attention. However, I felt contented to do some guiding and introduce some concepts. This point is trust as well, to trust
that people have the instinct of aesthetic and to trust metempsychosis. However far you have gone, you will come home someday. As
long as your heart beats, you are living.
